Welcome to the Mon Valley Express. This blog was created in response to other high school sports blogs in the Pittsburgh area. In no capacity is this blog being critical of all the other high school blogs out there; the other blogs simply cover too large an area to give personal coverage to a specific region. The MVE will service schools from the Mon Valley--Belle Vernon, Bentworth, Beth-Center, Brownsville, California, Charleroi, Frazier, Monessen, and Ringgold.
The goal of the MVE is to highlight the achievements of the student-athletes in the Mon Valley. This will be done in various formats ranging from interviews to short write-ups. Finally, the MVE will post weekly statistical updates in various sports. This, however, will depend on the cooperation from area coaches.
The first game of the season to be covered will be Ringgold @ Laurel Highlands (9-7-12 @ 7:30PM). Other games will be covered throughout the season based on the availability of contributors.
